Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there! 💗 After becoming a mom I have a new found appreciation for my own mom. I was finally able to realize how much she loves me and I am so grateful for how much she has sacrificed and how much she does for me and my baby girl! I feel like I didn’t understand it until I became a mom myself! So Mother’s Day means so much more to me now that I am a mom and I am excited to celebrate my own mom, mother in law & all my mama friends today! I also am so thankful God chose me to be mama to my amazing girl! Blakely was one month old in this picture and I so miss those days when she would fall asleep on my chest!
Happy Friday friends! Wow it’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here! We have had so much going on lately and we’ve all been hit by some nasty stomach bug! (Let me tell you, it is so hard having a sick baby! Just breaks my heart!😢) Braden was the last to catch it & hopefully starts to feel better soon!
But hey! the sun is out today and it’s starting to (somewhat) feel like spring! And boy are we so ready for it! ☀️
Here’s another Friday favorites post with a few random (defiantly random) things I’ve been loving lately!
Method brand all purpose cleaner! I love love love this pink grapefruit scent it smells so good I almost could eat it! It is plant based & non toxic. And this cleaner actually cleans! I use it everyday on my counter tops & Blakely’s high chair that gets so messy! We also love Method’s dish soap & foaming hand soap in pink grapefruit!
Ok now that it’s officially springtime (even though it doesn’t feel like it here in the PNW 😱) that means… Cadbury mini eggs are in stores for Easter! These are my guilty pleasure!
Beautycounter skin care & make up products are my new favorite! I could write a whole post about these products & I just might have to! These products are safe for your skin! There are to many chemicals & toxic things in our skincare and beauty products that we aren’t aware of and it is shocking! My go to favorites are: Lip Sheer in the color Petal, the Charcoal Face Mask, & the Rosmary Citrus Body Oil! (Literally smells like you are at the spa! 🙌🏼)
Our next week is filled with party plans for Blakelys Birthday Fiesta 💃🏼 & I am hoping for some good weather to get outside & do some planting in our new raised garden beds and outdoor patio pots! Happy Friday & happy weekend y’all!
Blakely “helping” plant our front entry pots earlier this week. Got and little dirty & tasted some dirt! 😍
We finally had the motivation to get some unfinished projects done around the house! Once it warms up & the weather starts to get nicer (which it seems like spring will never come 😔), there is a lot to do outside in our yard. And we figured we better get going on these indoor projects so we can spend our spring & summer outdoors!
We thought it would be cool to include a barn sliding door in our master bedroom plans to enter into our master bath . The barn slider was one of the many projects that didn’t get done before we rushed to move in.
Braden’s shift work schedule has him rotating days and nights so he either wakes up really early or sleeps in into the afternoon. When he works nights and sleeps in, its tough for me to get ready for the day with not having a bathroom door. Same thing when he gets ready at 4 in the morning, he wakes me up while he gets ready. 😴 So lets just say it was time for our bathroom door to get up there!
I found inspiration from pinterest for the style & went with a very simple design. We got this rustic wood from my father in law. Braden cut it down to size, sanded, nailed the wood together & added the hardware. (Thank you to my amazing handy husband!) Then I put a clear coat of polyurethane on to seal it and give it a lustre finish.
I love how our barn slider turned out for our bedroom & we are planning to make another one for our laundry room entry!
Even though we have been living in our new house for almost a year now, there are still projects that are unfinished. So our next project is our laundry room/ mud room. This room has become a dumping ground & we need some organization and a home for everything. In our house plans, we planned to put built-in cubbies for storage and a set of floating shelves above the sink & counter top. I have started brainstorming again for ideas for built-ins and of course Pinterest is the best place to go for inspiration!
For the built-ins, I’d like to do some shiplap, maybe paint the cubbies white (not sure if I will regret that when Blakely gets older) , hooks for coats, maybe a shelf up above (I have some vintage locker baskets that would look really cool up top), a bench seat & space below as a home for shoes that seem to end up everywhere in there now! Not a long list or anything! 😆
I wanted to share some of my inspiration & can’t wait to get started and check one more thing off our never ending list of to-dos!
