Barn Slider

We finally had the motivation to get some unfinished projects done around the house! Once it warms up & the weather starts to get nicer (which it seems like spring will never come 😔), there is a lot to do outside in our yard. And we figured we better get going on these indoor projects so we can spend our spring & summer outdoors!

We thought it would be cool to include a barn sliding door in our master bedroom plans to enter into our master bath . The barn slider was one of the many projects that didn’t get done before we rushed to move in.

Braden’s shift work schedule has him rotating days and nights so he either wakes up really early or sleeps in into the afternoon. When he works nights and sleeps in, its tough for me to get ready for the day with not having a bathroom door. Same thing when he gets ready at 4  in the morning, he wakes me up while he gets ready. 😴 So lets just say it was time for our bathroom door to get up there!

I found inspiration from pinterest for the style & went with a very simple design. We got this rustic wood from my father in law. Braden cut it down to size, sanded, nailed the wood together & added the hardware. (Thank you to my amazing handy husband!) Then I put a clear coat of polyurethane on to seal it and give it a lustre finish.

I love how our barn slider turned out for our bedroom & we are planning to make another one for our laundry room entry!

WILD about you

Monday was a SNOW DAY! Yes! The Pacific Northwest has hit us with a crazy snow storm. Two weeks ago I was so ready for spring but with this blizzard, winter is not going away. I got to stay home from work though! We stayed all cozy inside, enjoyed some family time & made our valentines!

Blakely & I go to monthly play dates with friends & February’s play date happens to be on Valentine’s Day! ❤️ I shared last week that we are making our own valentines this year. I have always enjoyed and loved to craft & be creative. So putting together these valentines was so fun! Of course thanks to pinterest for some inspiration, here are our DIY valentines!

img_3106img_3104I liked the idea of not doing candy valentines because the kids in our play date group are all under four years old. They most likely don’t need all that sugar. Yes I know animal crackers have sugar too, but less than straight up candy! 😉

All of the supplies I used were crafting stuff that I already had on hand, but are almost all from Micheals. I designed the WILD saying on Microsoft word. Super simple and easy! Just print, cut & paste onto some animal print card stock. Add a heart sticker, tie with bakers twine, and you have the cutest handmade valentines!

What valentines are you all making? I’d love to see them too!
